LoCo: Local Coffee – Coffee with a Mission
International coffee shops have been emerging around Iloilo, like Starbucks and Tom N Toms. To promote local coffee sources, not just in Iloilo but within the entire Panay – LoCo was established. It is an Iloilo-based project with the mission to not only provide good quality of coffee drinks but also to encourage everyone to purchase locally source coffee beans.
Last April 30, 2016, they’ve sold their first cup during the Produkto Lokal Fair in Molo Mansion, Molo, Iloilo. It was a success so they decided to launch their first store at Food Park, Iloilo. A year after they launched at Molo Mansion, they opened a take-out window branch at General Luna Street just across Atrium Mall. Recently, LoCo opened their first full café in GT Town Center at Pavia. They also have franchise branches at Tigbauan, Oton, Miag-ao, and Antique – happy to serve coffee lovers with fresh and naturally made coffee drinks!

Advocacy
Another goal of LoCo is to help and support local coffee farmers. LoCo started within Iloilo alone, they’ve used coffee beans from Miag-ao, Leon, Calinog, and Igbaras. The advocacy of LoCo has been expanding from province to province, they also make an effort to get to know more about the stories of each farmer providing them coffee beans. Today, LoCo also supports local artists and features them on their Facebook page.
Aside from coffee drinks, LoCo offers its customers non-caffeine drinks (home-brewed iced teas), breakfast dishes, waffles, sandwiches and yummy pasta. If you’re a regular customer, you might want to purchase their reusable glass tumbler available at any branch worth Php250 pesos and get a Php5 discount every time you use it. With this, you can help save mother earth!
